OUR BOARD OF ADVISORS
REICO’s Board of Advisors is a carefully selected group of professionals who facilitate the real estate process and form the foundation of the Real Estate Investment Club of Ontario. Combined they have over 100 years of local experience and will work together in concert as your lawyers, accountants, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, home inspectors, insurance specialists, property managers and savvy real estate investors. It is this network that enable REICO to be an invaluable resource for any real estate investor.
Chris Nelson: Acquisitions & Financing
Chris Nelson is the founder of the Real Estate Investment Club of Ontario Inc. It is a provincial wide full service real estate investment company that helps real estate investors to find and fund real estate investment opportunities.
Mr. Nelson started investing in real estate in 2000 and has purchased and sold real estate in over half a dozen cities in South Western Ontario. He has also taken real estate courses such as, Robert Kiyosaki's Learn to be rich real estate course, Markus Group's Russ Whitney real estate course and CWB's real estate course.
With an investor centric focus, the Real Estate Investment Club of Ontario endeavors to find solutions to real estate investors’ three major challenges which are finding deals, funding deals and locating local real estate experts.
Matthew Tamburello: Rent To Own Specialist & Mentor
Matthew Tamburello, President & Secretary Treasurer of Tamburello Realty Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in real estate.
Following his family into the real estate industry, Matthew was instrumental in implementing the Tamburello brand. His family owns a variety of successful businesses under the Tamburello name as well as affiliated firms. As president and secretary treasurer of his own real estate and investment company, Mr. Tamburello specializes in contract legality, fiscal analysis and negotiations. He is responsible for reviewing contracts, overseeing due diligence, and inspecting
properties. He works with a select niche group of large investment and networking companies.
Mr. Tamburello has studied architecture, property management and lease options. His company offers solutions to real estate matters with integrity, honesty, and due diligence while providing superior customer service. His company is 100% Canadian owned and operated and located in Mississauga, Ontario. The founders and principals of the company all have successful track records in architectural design, property management, creative financing, contractual law and home renovation/restoration services. Being 100% Canadian, they invest in markets all across the country and primarily in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Christine Gilmet: Co-Founder of Real Estate Magnets & Property Acquisition Specialist
Chris was born and raised in England, and immigrated to Canada over 30 years ago. She quickly acclimatized to the Canadian way of life and loved the variety of the different parts of the country with the cultural influences of housing and family life.
Her introduction to Real Estate Investing actually began after taking Interior Decorating Courses, passing with Honors, and specializing in Environmental Interior Decorating. Realizing that many people do not understand the environmental niche, and believe that ‘Green’ always means expensive, which is not always true, she started a business ‘Increase - Home & Business Green Consulting Services’ which greens businesses to increase their bottom line.
From these beginnings flourished her passion for investing in Real Estate of differing types, rent to own, multi-unit, buy-rent-hold, buy-fix-sell, wholesaling, joint ventures, etc.
Chris is passionate about Real Estate Investing, helping others solve their housing problems while ‘secretly’ trying to ‘green’ properties, saving money for the investor, pride of home ownership and benefiting the environment, AND forced appreciation of the planet.
Cory Popescu: Property Management, Tenant Acquisition & Eviction Specialist
After working in the computer industry for several years and only earning an active income, Cory decided to earn passive income from something that she loved. She learned from childhood about houses helping dad with home improvement. Her dad worked himself in construction and grandparents were in trades, so she decided to invest in single homes a few months after she had attended real estate investment courses in the fall of 2007. She acquired rent to own tenants rather quickly, some of them still dwelling in the respective properties.
Lately, her focus in real estate is to continue to learn & consult in property management for small landlords who own or control up to 25 units, giving those landlords helpful hints on how to acquire great tenants, how to retain them, create and control a good budget, adequate property improvements, when to & how to apply correctly Landlord and Tenant Board forms, as well as helping with eviction proceedings.
